OCES PTA SMS Opt-In Policy

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to outline the guidelines and terms under which the OCES PTA will send SMS messages to individuals who have opted in to receive them. These messages may include updates, announcements, event information, and other relevant communications from the OCES PTA.

Opt-In Procedure

  1. Voluntary Participation: Participation in the SMS messaging service is completely voluntary. Individuals must opt in to receive SMS messages.
  2. Opt-In Method: To opt in, individuals must provide their mobile phone number and explicitly agree to receive SMS messages from OCES PTA by signing up through our designated opt-in form or other approved methods.
  3. Confirmation: After opting in, individuals will receive a confirmation message on their mobile device. They must reply to this message as instructed to complete the opt-in process.

Information Collected

  • Mobile Phone Number: The primary piece of information collected for SMS messaging purposes.
  • Name (optional): May be collected to personalize messages.
  • Other Contact Information (optional): Such as email address, for cross-referencing purposes.

Message Frequency

The OCES PTA will send SMS messages as needed, but generally not more than [X] times per month. The frequency of messages may vary depending on the current activities and needs of the PTA.

Costs

While OCES PTA does not charge for SMS messages, standard message and data rates may apply as per the individual’s mobile carrier plan.

Opt-Out Procedure

Individuals may opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying “STOP” to any message received. Once opted out, they will no longer receive SMS messages from OCES PTA. To resubscribe, individuals must opt in again through the designated process.

Privacy and Security

  • Confidentiality: The OCES PTA will keep all collected information confidential and will not share or sell any personal information to third parties.
  • Data Protection: The OCES PTA will implement appropriate measures to protect the security of collected information.

Changes to the Policy

The OCES PTA reserves the right to modify this SMS opt-in policy at any time. Any changes will be communicated to individuals via SMS or other appropriate channels.
