**Job Description: Treasurer of OCES PTA**

**Position Overview:**
The Treasurer of OCES PTA plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and integrity of the organization. This position is vital for managing and overseeing the financial affairs in accordance with PTA guidelines and local regulations.

**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Financial Oversight:**
– Maintain accurate records of all PTA financial transactions.
– Develop and present a budget for approval by the board.
– Monitor budget implementation and provide regular financial reports to the board and general membership.
– Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and PTA bylaws.

2. **Banking and Accounting:**
– Manage PTA bank accounts and ensure proper documentation of all transactions.
– Reconcile bank statements and maintain financial records in an organized manner.
– Prepare and submit necessary tax forms and reports as required by local, state, and federal authorities.

3. **Fundraising and Income Management:**
– Coordinate with fundraising committees to ensure proper handling and recording of funds.
– Deposit all funds collected promptly and maintain records of sources and uses of funds.
– Work with the board to develop fundraising strategies aligned with PTA goals.

4. **Financial Planning and Strategy:**
– Provide financial guidance and support to the board and committees.
– Assist in developing financial policies and procedures to ensure transparency and accountability.
– Review financial implications of proposed programs and activities.

5. **Audit and Compliance:**
– Facilitate an annual audit or financial review of PTA accounts.
– Ensure compliance with PTA guidelines and local regulations regarding financial practices.
– Implement internal controls to safeguard PTA assets.

**Qualifications:**
– Experience in financial management, accounting, or a related field.
– Familiarity with nonprofit financial management practices preferred.
– Strong organizational and communication skills.
– Ability to work collaboratively with board members, volunteers, and school staff.
– Understanding of PTA mission and objectives.

**Term and Time Commitment:**
– The Treasurer serves a term as defined by the OCES PTA bylaws.
– Time commitment includes attending board meetings, PTA events, and handling financial tasks throughout the year.
